Best Ever West Ham 11
On the back on Payet's performances, for me, he is the best player I have seen in the flesh and it got me thinking..

Over the years who would make up your best ever West Ham 11. This isn't a team say from one season but a mix and match of all of the best players.

Choose your own formation and then list them below.

I can't decide on a few positions but these players definitely would be in mine:

Rio Ferdinand
Bobby Moore
Julian Dicks
Di Canio
Payet

Probably Ludo as GK.

Can't think of many RB's.

Couldn't decide on a striker either unless I went with 4-4-2 and I was trying to think of just the one in a 4-2-3-1.

What's yours?

SUBS: Ludo, Rio, Martin Allen, Cole, PDC, Cross

Rio & Sir Bob are our greatest central defenders but both were best along side a big central half and if we need someone to put the boot in Martin Allen is the best I can think of

Ha ha, I was purely on a fishing trip to see if I could get some aggression out of Piston ;o)

Absolutely gutted to have never been able to see Moore play through my age.

Wasn't hard to see by the tv clips that he would have been comfortable and unruffled regardless of the pace of the game.

A pure Rolls Royce.

Never sure that argument holds water, if Moore was born now he would have had a completely different football education, training, diet etc. I think you have to look at player vrs others of their era and how much better they were.

I get it Stubbo but it makes no sense leaving these players out when you are picking West Ham's BEST. Whether you've seen them or not.

Re: Best Ever West Ham 11
Not doubting it Piston...just never saw any of them play.

Moore generally accepted as best Centre Back the nation has ever had....of course he'd make an all time team, but I've not seen him so my team was based on those I've seen.

Re: Best Ever West Ham 11
For all of you that are not including Moore, Hurst and Peters in West Ham's "BEST" team here's a clue......

They were the backbone of an England team that won the fucking WORLD CUP!

I'll take a shot in the dark here and say that all 3 would find a place in any West Ham team.

Ok, breathe...........

Re: Best Ever West Ham 11
Forgot Tevez....would have him in the starting line up over Cottee (just on what I saw of them play) and shift one of the guys on the bench for Cottee.

Re: Best Ever West Ham 11
Based on the players I've seen and the quality level they were at when at West Ham:

Miklosko

Repka
Bilic
Martin
Dicks (C)

Sinclair
Parker
Lanzini
Payet

Di Canio
Cottee

Subs:
Lama
Ferdinand R
Song (assuming the player we had at the start of last season)
Cole J (end of his first spell)
Berkovic
McAvennie
Kanoute (vastly underrated targetman when with us)

A bit of a mixture (and my football awareness didn't really kick in to be honest until Bonds was our manager so hard to judge the earlier eras or comment on). But the team above I'd very much enjoy watching.

Agree with that NS but I would have Cottee for Hurst (never saw GH play in the flesh) and would perhaps go 4-3-3 with McAvennie in for Bish. If not, in a 4-42 I would have to go for Parker (I loved Bish, but not as much as you!).

Keeper is a real toughie tho - I agree and would go for Parkes JUST, in front of Ludo.

Yeah, last season at Palace was first away win in 7 or 8 attempts

Highlights include Kovac, Quashie, Ilan, Blanco, Pogatetz, Barrera, Boa Morte and by no means least Benni McCarthy

Damn you wee whipper snappers!

To be fair Rossal, you must be in heaven currently after seeing utter gash for most of the time you've been old enough to know the score.

I mean I've seen the barren years, but at least a lot of them were a bloody good laugh with some decent players and footie.
